EP-674 Metastases to the breast from a primary lung adenocarcinoma: A case report and literature review

Abstract Background Primary breast cancer is the commonest malignancy in adult females. However, metastases to a rare occurrence with frequency of approximately 0.2% - 1.3%. Lung adenocarcinoma most common type lung and distant other organs carry poor prognosis. A wide variety malignancies can metastasise breast, melanoma being common. On review literature there paucity published cases primary metastasizing breast. Case 77-year-old lady present emergency department (ED) 5-day history presyncope. There were no associated symptoms findings on clinical exam. Computed tomography (CT) thorax, abdomen & pelvis reported diffuse opacities both lungs solitary, 3×2cm mass upper inner quadrant left core biopsy lesion was carried out. Immunohistochemistry did not support diagnosis carcinoma but strongly suggested adenocarcinoma. After multidisciplinary meeting (MDM) discussion plan commence course chemotherapy. Conclusion Given its atypical presentation it be challenging distinguish between metastases. Metastatic disease, although rare, should considered differential as treatment prognosis differ greatly from cancer. essential for identifying origin tumour.
